This direct phone line will allow patients who have been waiting for months to schedule their bowel cancer surgeries to receive proper advice, guidance, and support on matters such as compensation. So far, only 40 out of over 300 patients have been contacted after news broke out in March regarding the long waiting times. The hospital management has since acknowledged that the waiting times may have cost lives. Danish law states that cancer patients have a right to be operated on within two weeks after a decision to operate has been made.
Dedicated hotline available from May 1 for cancer patients at Aarhus University Hospital.
