Europe’s most valuable company has just reported the highest profit in its century-old history. Since 2019, sales have increased by 773%, mainly due to the diabetes/weight-loss drugs Ozempic and Wegovy. One of the architects of this success is the current CEO, Lars Fruergaard Jørgensen. He was born in Viborg to a farming family, was educated at Aarhus Business School, and has worked at Novo Nordisk since 1991, becoming CEO in 2017.
