The World Happiness Report, published by the UN in collaboration with Gallup and Oxford University, annually surveys people to rank the level of satisfaction of their lives. This year, it again places Denmark second and Finland number one. While in the past, the happiness levels were highest among young people, recent trends show a decline in this pattern. Several factors contribute to this, including loneliness, social media, climate change, economics. The happiness level among the elderly, on the other hand, has increased.
