Estonia legalizes same-sex marriage

Estonia’s acceptance of marriage equality, and LGBTQ+ people, has grown in recent years. 53% of the population supports marriage equality, compared with 34% in 2012. Estonia thus becomes the first country in Central Europe that was formerly under communist rule to allow same-sex marriage, which is legal in several places in Western Europe.
