The conservatives (centre-right) lost the parliamentary elections, after ruling the country for 8 years. A new centre-left government will be formed around the social-democrat Jonas Gahr Støre. This is the first time since 1959, when all five Nordic countries (Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Iceland) are governed by social democrats.
