Norway wants to start mining the seabed for rare earth minerals. In their research trips, they found valuable stones that contain iron, manganese and cobalt. There is significant pressure on the Norwegian Parliament to not approve the seabed mining from international organizations and other countries. Why? We don’t know the effect of mining the seabed on the ecosystem.
