Denmark signed a treaty with Kosovo to rent Gjilan prison. Up to 300 non-Danes (that will be deported after serving their time) will be housed there. Why? The Danish prisons are overcrowded and understaffed. Gjilan prison is being rebuilt to meet Danish standards.
